How to program the receiver

The receiver (English: Receiver) is used to watch TV channels on the TV; Where the receiver device performs several tasks to provide this service, it receives the encrypted signal and decodes it, as well as converts the signal from the digital format (English: Digital) to the analog format (English: Analog) that the TV understands, in addition, the receiver works to elicit a signal The desired channel is only from the satellite signal. Another function of receivers is their ability to amplify audio signals, and it also provides a user interface that can be interacted with via a remote control device.

How to install and program the receiver

Before starting to use the receiver, it is preferable to place it in a suitable place, as the receivers may get hot during their operation, so; It must be placed in a place that allows air to reach it, and in addition to other devices connected to it such as television, it requires a large number of connections and wires, so it is preferable to install them in a place close to the electrical connections. [3]

installation After installing the dish (English:

Dish) in a high place (such as the roof of a building or a balcony) and determining the appropriate angle for it to receive the signal from the satellite whose channels it is desired to receive, using an analog compass (English: Analog compass) or other means, the coaxial cable is extended from it to the receiver so that this cable is connected to the back of the receiver, and it is recommended to install the cable well when extending it from the dish and not leave it hanging or loose; To preserve it from damage, it must also be ensured that the satellite dish itself is well installed so that strong winds do not affect it and it falls from the top of the building, causing injuries or material losses.

Connecting with TV

using RCA connections

After finding the RCA ports in the back end of the receiver, each wire is connected according to its color to its designated place in the receiver, for example, the wires designated for transmitting the audio signal are always red or red, and then these wires are connected in the designated place (also depending on the color of the wire and the port) in the back of the TV, knowing that some TVs may have connector ports on the side or even the front.

Using the HDMI connection

The HDMI connection can be used to connect the TV to the receiver in place of the RCA connections; The HDMI connection is capable of transmitting audio and video in high quality, and it provides up to eight channels of digital audio signals. The lengths of HDMI connections differ from each other, some of them are short, and some are up to 50 feet long, but it is worth noting that it is not recommended to use connections longer than 25 feet, as this may lead to signal loss or degradation.

To connect the TV to the receiver using the HDMI connection, it is best to turn off both devices before starting the connection process. First, the port designated for the HDMI connection is found on the receiver and then the connection is connected to it, and force should not be used when connecting it, as it will, by its nature, enter the port easily; Unless the user is trying to enter it upside down. [6]

After the HDMI cable is connected to the receiver, the port designated for the HDMI connection is searched on the TV, bearing in mind that some TVs may contain more than one port, so the HDMI connection is inserted into any of them, and the first port should be, if available, It is preferable not to use force when connecting the cable, and if the user encounters a problem during the connection, he must make sure that the connection is inserted in the correct form and not inverted. [6]

After completing the connection of both devices to each other using the HDMI connection, the input source (English: Input Source) is selected on the TV when it is turned on; As most TVs will ask the user about this when connecting for the first time, the user will choose the source according to the port number to which the HDMI cable is connected. If it is the first port, for example, then “HDMI 1” is selected from the list of the input source.

programming

After completing all the connections of the receiver, this device must be programmed to decode the signals from the satellite on which the dish was selected to receive its signal in addition to installing the channels on it, and this is done by following the following steps:

Turn on the receiver in addition to the TV, and the receiver may configure itself to work for the first time.

After the receiver has finished configuring itself, the Menu button is pressed using the remote control, and then “Settings” is selected.

The "Satellite" option is selected from the list, and thus a list of all the satellites installed on the receiver will appear. The arrow buttons are used to move between the names of the satellites, and when the desired satellite is reached, the "OK" button is pressed on the remote control to select it.

Press the yellow button on the remote control to start the channel search process; Where a bar will appear showing the progress of the process, and if its value reaches 100%, the search process will stop automatically, and it will go to the first channel found during the process.

To move between installed channels, use the up and down arrow buttons on the remote control.
